Built during the second half of 2021, the walls of the farmhouse were built with insulated concrete form (ICF) bricks. These are made out of polystyrene for insulation and are filled with reinforced concrete for strength and durability.
The whole farmstead is powered purely by solar energy, including the 40kWh system, borehole pump, and geyser.
To further reduce our ecological footprint, the farmhouse is double-glazed throughout.

Where the rooms differ is that the Dassie Room has more windows than the Kudu Room.
